Girls & Boys, are a band based out of Santa Rosa California. Their debut album "The Feel Of The Sun" came out October 2011. It is a mix of vibes and styles ranging from the intense energy and emotion of "The End', to the laid back groove of "Winter Moon". KC Turner from SF wrote in his New Music Monday blog "Be Prepared to get goosebumps!". They can be found playing gigs around the bay area and beyond.

Girls & Boys is comprised of the songwriting duo of Brianna Lee and Josh Barrett. The two met at an Open Mic four years ago and began writing and performing together. Music was a big part of their lives growing up, and both had already started careers in the music business. Brianna had recently recorded in Nashville with songwriter/instrumentalist Phil Madeira (Alison Krauss, Emmy Lou Harris, Elvis Costello). While Josh had spent three years in a band co-founded by legendary guitarist Jimi Macon (The Gap Band, James Brown, Sly and The Family Stone, Natalie Cole). They had been honing their skill at a high level and were eager to put them to work!

Together with Mark Tarlton (drums) and Victor Relli (guitar) they set out to record original music with soul and emotion leaving behind anything that didn't fit that criteria. There is a mix of vibes and styles on the record while also maintaining an overall consistency of feel. The album was recorded over the course of the last year at Laughing Tiger, Prairie Sun, Studio D, and Hyde Street studios in the San Francisco bay area. Having a rhythm section with 14 years of experience playing together helped tremendously!

Currently promoting their album and playing shows on the west coast, they are busy writing new songs and booking gigs! "We have always been musicians, music is our way of life. It is an everyday thing for us" says bassist and songwriter Josh Barrett.
